For engineers

Turn AI-code cleanup into high-value engineering work.

Vibestruct connects certified engineers with founders who already have working AI-built applications and need production expertise. The product is built, the customer is real, and the work is the part you are actually good at.

How the assessment works

We read every application ourselves. Expect a reply either way.

A different shape of work to a job board

Most freelance platforms hand you an undefined problem, an anonymous buyer and a race to the bottom on price. This is not that.

Scoped before you see it

Every project arrives with a readiness assessment behind it and a written list of deliverables. You are quoting on a known problem, not a paragraph of hope.

No bidding

You are not competing against fifty proposals at a tenth of the rate. Work is assigned to the engineer whose experience fits the findings.

Payment held in escrow

Funds are secured through Stripe Connect before you start and released when the client approves the agreed deliverables. No chasing invoices.

Work that uses your judgement

Auth, data access, payments, environments, deployment, monitoring. Production problems, on products that already have users waiting.

Repeat engagements

A founder who trusts you through a Production Sprint often comes back for Launch and stays on Production Care. Relationships, not one-off gigs.

We handle the client side

Scoping, expectations, pricing conversations and change requests sit with Vibestruct. You do the engineering.

We don’t publish earnings figures or promise a volume of work. Project rates depend on the scope, and how much work reaches you depends on demand and on your track record with us. We would rather tell you that than quote a number we cannot stand behind.

How engineers are assessed

“Vetted senior engineer” means almost nothing. What we actually need to know is whether someone can walk into an unfamiliar AI-generated codebase, work out what it is really doing, and make it safe without breaking what the founder already sold. So that is what we test.

GitHub screening

We read real work before anyone gets a call — commit history, how problems were approached, how code was explained to other people.

Technical assessment

Focused on the production problems this work actually involves: authentication, authorization, data access, secrets, payment verification, environments. No puzzle questions.

An intentionally flawed AI-generated application

We hand over a prototype seeded with the failures we see in the wild and watch what gets found, in what order, and what gets correctly left alone.

Architecture and debugging review

Can you explain the blast radius of a problem rather than patching the symptom — and can you say which fix is not worth doing yet?

Founder empathy

Explaining a serious risk to a non-technical founder without condescension, drama or jargon. This is not a soft skill here — it is most of the job.

Probationary production audit

Your first real engagement is reviewed by us before it reaches the client. After that you are a certified AI-production engineer in the network.

What certification means here

It is our own internal standard, not an industry credential, and we describe it that way to clients too. It means you have passed the assessment above and had a first engagement reviewed. It carries weight because we stake our own delivery on it — not because a third party issued it.

Who fits

This works best for engineers who have shipped and operated production systems, and who find a messy inherited codebase interesting rather than insulting.

  • Comfortable with authentication, authorization and data access rules
  • Have configured a real production database, not only a local one
  • Have handled payments and webhook verification in anger
  • Can set up environments, deployment and monitoring end to end
  • Can read an unfamiliar codebase quickly and say what matters
  • Can write a status update a non-technical founder understands

Common stacks in the queue: React and Next.js front-ends, Supabase and Postgres, Node and Python back-ends, Stripe, Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare, Railway.

Production work, on products that already have someone waiting to use them.
